About 45 minutes later, police received a triple-0 call from a woman involved in a crash at Ambarvale. She suffered minor injuries when her airbag deployed.

The woman told police that after the head-on crash on Copperfield Dr, two people got out of the other vehicle and left on a scooter.

On Tuesday, Liam Tapper reported from the car wash at Macquarie Fields.

“This is a 24-hour car wash where this 48-year-old Uber driver from Minto was, just before 4am, this morning. But three young teenagers, they set upon this Uber driver while he was here washing his car,” Tapper said.

“They have then fled the scene, two of them in the car, one trailing behind on a scooter.

“They have gone on a joyride throughout southwestern Sydney before they crashed into an innocent woman who was driving her car on Copperfield Ave in Ambervale.

“Two of the teenagers got out of the car and they jumped on to that scooter, the three young teenagers fled the scene on that scooter and they are now subject to a major manhunt currently underway around the Campbelltown area.

“The female driver, she has been treated by paramedics for minor injuries that she sustained after the airbag went off and hit her in the chest. She hasn’t been taken to hospital yet.”

Crime scenes have now been established in both Macquarie Fields and Ambarvale.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam vision from the vicinity of Atchison Rd to Copperfield Dr, between 3.30am and 4.30am, to contact police.
