Coolum: Woman killed and teenage driver hospitalised after head-on crash between Tesla and ute

A woman has been killed and a teenager hospitalised after a horror crash on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast forensic crash unit is investigating the fatal two-vehicle traffic crash at Coolum Beach on Monday.

At around 2.35pm, a Toyota Hilux and Tesla Model 3 were involved in a head-on collision while travelling in opposite directions on the Sunshine Motorway.

A 48-year-old Palmview woman, the driver and sole occupant of the Tesla, died at the scene.

The other driver, a 17-year-old boy, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision to come forward.
