Members of the public have been asked to come forward with information into an unsolved murder and potentially share in a $1 million reward now on offer from police.

The reward has been announced to assist detectives solve the crime involving the murder of a woman as she was walking home in Western Sydney almost 10 years ago.

Prabha Arun Kumar, 31, was walking home at about 9.30pm on Saturday, March 7 2015, after catching a train to Parramatta Railway Station on her way home from work in Rhodes.

As she spoke to her husband on the phone while she walked home, she was stabbed in Parramatta Park.

Emergency services attended, but they were unable to save Prabha, and she died from her injuries.

A crime scene was established and strike force marcoala was launched to investigate the murder.

A year later in 2016, on what would have been Prabha’s 42nd birthday, her husband Arun told 7NEWS he missed his wife dearly.

“She was very caring ... and loving,” he said.

“I miss my wife a lot.”

Now, almost 10 years on, NSW Police are appealing for new information into the murder.

“During the investigation, strike force detectives have pursued multiple lines of inquiries and made several public appeals for information; however, the case remains unsolved,” they said on Monday.
