Brassall: Pedestrian fighting for life after being struck by truck on the Warrego Highway

A pedestrian has been critically injured after being hit by a vehicle on the Warrego Highway west of Brisbane early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the westbound lanes at Brassall at 5.52am, following reports of a collision involving a truck and a pedestrian.

Paramedics are treating the pedestrian, who is understood to be in a life-threatening condition.

The truck driver declined a medical assessment, Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed.

The Queensland Police Service said the Warrego Highway is being cleared, with motorists warned to expect significant delays and urged to use alternative routes.
