‘Little grub’: Wild moment tradie fights off teen intruder at Mackay home
Wild footage has emerged of the moment a teenager tried to break into a Queensland home, only to be fought off by a tradie.
Darcy McInnes was near his home in South Mackay on November 10 when a masked teenager scaling the back fence and veranda railing, trying to force his way into the property.
Working only a short distance from the house, Mr McInnes received a security alert and immediately rushed back, grabbing a hunting for protection.

The tradie then confronted the intruder before chasing him down, followed by his dog and a friend, who helped him make a citizen’s arrest.
On social media, Mr McInnes said he was lucky to be working so close to home when the incident occurred.
“(The teenager) started crying when he was confronted, scared the f**k outta the little grub,” he wrote.

Speaking to Today, the tradie said he was relieved to have a friend nearby when the incident occurred.
“(I) got my keys, grabbed a mate from work and zoomed home as quick as I could,” he said.
“A bit heart racing – just thinking, ‘I’m going to get this dog’.”

Queensland Police were called to the property a short time after and arrested the 18-year-old man.
He was charged with one count of entering a dwelling and commit.
He will face Mackay Magistrates Court on November 18.
