Dog squad swoop on teenager after violent carjacking with machete in St Albans, Victoria
Diners were left in shock as a violent car-jacking involving a teenager armed with a machete played out in a fast food restaurant carpark.
A quick response by police and vigilant attention by one of the Victorian dog squad units led to the arrest of the teenager following the alleged aggravated carjacking in St Albans.
Police were called to a fast-food outlet on St Albans Road following reports a man had been injured and his car stolen at about 3.15 am on Tuesday.

The victim was threatened and allegedly slashed with the knife before his white Kia sedan was stolen.
As police were responding to the scene a member of the Dog Squad spotted a car matching the stolen vehicle’s description on the Western Ring Road.
He called for assistance and followed the car through Kealba and into Sunshine where police moved in.
Several units boxed in the vehicle in Garnet Street before the teenager was removed from the car and arrested.
The 16-year-old boy from Keilor Downs, who appeared substance affected, was taken to hospital under police guard.
He will be interviewed by police about the carjacking.
The victim was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening slash wounds.
