A house fire in Perth’s north has prompted a warning over potentially dangerous smoke, with those nearby urged to remain inside.

The blaze was sparked just after 12.30pm in Bullsbrook near the intersection of Eden Drive and Emerald Lane on Wednesday.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services warned the house fire is resulting in potentially dangerous smoke being blown westerly towards Chittering Road.

There is a lot of smoke in the area with Bullsbrook College a part of the warning zone.

Emerald Lane has been shut as firefights work to bring the blaze under control.

People in the area are urged to remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed.

Air conditioners should also be switched off.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully.
