Horrific scenes have played out after a major crash saw a car roll over and a three-year-old toddler left dead at the scene as a result.

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating the fatal crash that occurred in De Grey in the Pilbara region of Western Australia on Wednesday.

About 10:50pm, a maroon-coloured Holden Captiva travelling on an access road near Great Northern Highway, left the road and rolled.

A three-year-old female passenger sustained critical injuries and sadly died at the scene.

Five other adults in the vehicle, including three females and two males, received minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
