Kendall Jenner broke the internet posing on this Aussie sun lounger

When model and reality star Kendall Jenner posted photos on Instagram posing on a sun lounge, she likely had no idea the effect it would have on furniture brand Harbour.
"The post had one million views," says chief executive officer of Harbour, Harrison Condos. "It was pretty crazy to have one of the largest celebrities post about our furniture."
The bikini-clad star was pictured climbing out of her pool and lounging on a boucle daybed from the brand's Hayman collection.

"She's a fan of Harbour and has it all through her home," he says.
And Jenner isn't the only celebrity fan of the brand. Harrison can confidently list off some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Kris Jenner and Kevin Costner.
While this is certainly very brand's dream, Harrison says it's largely to do with having support from interior designers.
"We sell a lot of stuff through interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, he's a big fan of ours."

Based in Los Angeles, Bullard is an award-winning designer, TV personality, author and product designer, known for creating eclectic and luxurious spaces.
To cement the friendship, Harbour created a collection with the designer that was defined as a "modern update on a mid-century French aesthetic".

50 years in the making
While it Harrison makes it sound easy, this isn't a story of overnight Instagram success. In fact, the brand will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.
The family-owned furniture brand was originally established in 1976 by Harrison's parents - Jim and Harriet - under the name Tecno Furniture.
Harrison and his brother Nicholas later joined the business in the early 2000s and now oversee the company globally.

Having learned the art of craftsmanship from their father, the brothers were keen to drive the design direction and break into the US market. The first step? A rebrand.
"I moved to New York in 2007 and then my brother in 2009," says Harrison. "Mum and Dad had a factory here and Nick and I came up with the idea of starting a brand called Harbour.
"We then extended the reach of the brand into the US."
But this was no simple feat, and Harrison is keen to point out that they started from the "ground up" in the states.
"In the beginning it was stressful because we didn't really have a business in America, so it was a bit complicated and tough."

Since then, the brand has "got legs" and the family all continue to work together, including Harrison's sister Kira.
"It's great, everyone still works and it's pretty harmonious."
While Harbour's HQ is local - Sydney's Waterloo - the brand now has showrooms across the world, including the USA and Asia.
A new collection
Harbour has just launched its latest collection inspired by the Australian and Mediterranean coastlines, and right in time for the Australian spring/summer season.
Aussie fashion model Jess Hart, is the face of the new collection adding a quintessential home-grown feel to it.
Also a fan of the brand, Hart says she's known the brothers for years and loves the "designs and vibe" of the brand.
"It's always fun to support Australian brands who are doing great things on the world stage."
Nicholas, the brand's chief creative officer, says the 2025 collection has a "timeless quality and effortless sophistication".

"We've thoughtfully designed each piece to seamlessly integrate a range of materials and textiles, ensuring warm, inviting tones that are as comfortable as they are durable."
And success is already coming their way with the 'Chloe' collection recently winning Best Outdoor Furniture Collection in the NYCxDesign Awards.
Staying true to their roots, one of the collections draws inspiration from a popular Aussie coastal suburb in the northern beaches of Sydney.
"The Palm Beach collection is inspired by Australian coastal living," says Harrison. "We used contemporary lines and materials we love working with - aluminium, teak, rope and travertine.
"We design and we get inspired by the Australian outdoor lifestyle."
Not satisfied with sticking to the status quo, the brand is keen to branch out when it comes to material choices.
"We're one of the only brands right now to have an outdoor velvet," says Harrison. "We spent a lot of time getting that right."
When it comes to trend forecasting, it looks like contemporary coastal is here to stay in the Australian outdoor furniture market.
"Our architecture in Australia is a lot more contemporary than the US so we're seeing a lot of contemporary silhouettes and organic shapes," says Harrison.
Harbour's 2025 collection is available now.
