Harris shocks with surprise day one appearance
The crowd of over 4000 delegates were delighted to a surprise appearance from the current vice president, soon to be ‘official’ Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.
Walking on stage while a Beyonce track played, Harris beamed with joy as she waved to the cheering crowd.
“It is so good to be with everyone this evening,” Harris said to the bewildered crowd.
“It is going to be a great week.”
Harris went on to make clear that day one of the DNC was not only about her race to The White House, but also about celebrating US President Joe Biden, who is not seeking re-election.
“I want to kick us off by celebrating our incredible President Joe Biden who is speaking later tonight.
“Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, for your lifetime of service to our nation and for all you continue to do.
“We will be forever grateful”.
