Fremantle are unstoppable in 2026 as they cruised to win No.14 on the trot as the star-studded Suns failed to show up.
Gold Coast had not been in the best of form and that continued despite still boasting Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson, Touk Miller, Jarrod Witts and Christian Petracca.
Meanwhile, the good times continue to roll for Murphy Reid, Luke Jackson and Shai Bolton.

Freddy’s fast
King’s awake
The Suns get their first goal of the game after a smart lead form King.
The Coleman Medal leader fakes right by going behind Cox and then ducks back out left and gets a strong mark.
King went goalless in the elimination final but has kicked a major in every game he’s played since.

The purple wave is becoming a real headache for the competition now.
The Dockers used handballs to unleash their run as often as possible and nearly doubled the Suns disposal count.
Gold Coast lead the clearances but as soon as they give their first disposal they are under intense pressure and are completly out-matched by Freo’s forwards.
Reid and Bolton are ripping them to shreds in the middle and they won’t care about the driving rain.
There’s a little bit of argy-bargy on the siren but it’s just the Suns upset with their start.

Rain inbound
The dark clouds have come over Optus Stadium again and we are likely to get some heavy rain over the next hour.
It won’t worry the Dockers who are torching the Suns and could be further up but for Amiss hitting the post twice.

Freddy’s fast
Frederick has the first three goals of the game and they’ve all come from set shots.
The Dockers are killing the Suns with speed through the corridor.
The Suns have also been caught out jumping for marks they can’t get to which then allows the Docker player to run off unchallenged before the defender lands.
Frederick has a career-best of four goals.

On line
Fremantle go forward after a strong clunk from Treacy on the wing and Frederick slots a nice set shot.
Amiss missed one earlier but Fremantle win it back from the kick out and Frederick hit the kick in the hardest and was rewarded with chest mark.

Underway
The first tap ends in a stalemate and we have three further stoppages as the presure is up early.
The Suns are the first team to escape the centre square but they get wrapped up inside 50.

Feeling confident?
Suns coach Damien Hardwick is feeling chipper ahead of the bounce, telling Channel 7 his side might need a “chainsaw of some sort” to stop Luke Jackson.
The big man has been in career-best form and he will look to torch Ned Moyle and try to run Jarrod Witts around.
Sun’s out
The sky has been gloomy all day but as Fremantle enter the arena the sun comes out to shine on them.
Another win today makes it 14 on the trot and will give them an eight-point buffer at the top of the ladder.
Missing piece?
The Dockers will get another look at Sean Darcy as the second ruckman tonight as they attempt to figure out who the perfect foil for Luke Jackson is.
Darcy has looked strong in the WAFL on return from injury and concussion but will not have much leeway to prove himself.
Local coverage
If you’re also tuning in on television don’t forget Channel 7 have a local call team in place for today’s game.
Including former Dockers star Sonny Walters, who looked pretty keen to slip the purple strip back on pre-game.
