Walyalup (Fremantle) has exorcised their road trip Demons in a crucial victory over Greater Western Sydney.

Shai Bolton, Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw shone but it was a pair of role-playing forwards who made the ultimate difference.

Recap all the action in our blog.

The burners!

How do you miss that!?

Dudley put the ball in front of Voss streaming through the 50-metre arc.

It took a kind bounce into the big man’s lap and he sprinted on.

He turned the corner, burned a defender and ran into an open goal-square all alone.

And missed a point-blank shot!

That really hurts.

Turf replacements

Today is the Giants’ first game at their traditional home ground since the win over West Coast on April 6.

Engie Stadium has been unavailable due to the Easter Show, which meant the Giants hosted one match in Canberra and played their other games away.

Having more than 850,000 people through the doors meant the surface took a hammering.

Over 1500 square metres of turf was replaced over 24 days to get the stadium back into AFL condition.

It’s still patchy around the interchange area plus where one 50m arc intersects with the boundary line, and you can see where the cricket pitch was for the Big Bash.

But the vast majority of the oval appears to have recovered well.

Welcome!

It’s another huge road trip for Walyalup who if they lose today will have lost their last three.

Darcy won’t play, meaning Luke Jackson will take most of the ruck duties but the Dockers will be quietly confident they can match the Giants in midfield.

Sit back and enjoy all the action with our live blog.
