Compatriot Briseis Brittain rounded out the podium for bronze.

She could hardly contain her excitement crossing the finish line.

A second half lift is needed from the Diamonds if they want to avoid a heartbreaking upset, down 21-23 against Jamaica at the half.

It has been a rollercoaster match with the intensity turned up to 11.

Australia trailed by as much as five points in several stages of the quarter, struggling to gain any edge.

Diamonds have been moving the ball smoothly but aren’t getting reward their effort.

West Aussie Sophie Garbin has been automatic the entire tournament, but coach Stacey Markinkovich decided to bench her after the first quarter in favour of Cara Koenen.

It is the quickest substation the Diamonds have made these games and a strange choice given she hadn’t missed yet.

Even the royal family can’t resist seeing the Diamonds in action.

Australia’s wait for a Commonwealth boxing champion is over, with Jye Dixon stepping up in the Bantamweight final as Jacob Cassar claimed silver in the very next bout.

Australia had not tasted gold in the ring since the nation’s home Games on the Gold Coast in 2018, when Harry Garside claimed glory in the 60kg weight division.
