SPORT: It was another massive medal haul for Australia on the second-last day of action in Glasgow! Recap how it all went down here.

Diamonds down early

The Diamonds received an early punch to the face against Jamaica, trailing 10-13 after the first quarter.

It’s the first time in Glasgow that Australia have been down in the first.

A dominant force this games, the Aussies will need to respond against an opposition applying high pressure.

A high scoring outfit, the Diamonds are struggling to build momentum, and goal attack Keira Austin has been rejected twice already.

The refs were giving Australia nothing in a heavy skewed penalty differential of 24-9.

Whistles flying

It’s a high pressure match early and the Kiwi refs are not letting anything go.

The Diamonds have seen 15 penalties called in the opening five minutes to Jamaica’s four.

Bruce bruised

West Aussie Courtney Bruce copped an early elbow to the head that left her dazed.

The Diamonds are on the back foot after Jamaica struck first.

Denny repeats gold medal!

Matt Denny has gone back-to-back with gold medal in the discus with a dominant display.

The Aussie bruiser had four attempts count, and any one of them would have been enough to win gold.

He outmatched the rest of the competiton and won with his 67.73m throw.

Reliable relay squads

Both men’s and women’s have qualified in the 4x100m relay after the heats.

The Aussie men led at the first three stages but were caught by Nigeria in the final change.

Each team finished third in their respective heat.

Aaron Kirby

Silver!

Jacob Cassar will take silver with the 19-year-old overpowered by Patris Mughalzai.

He tried to switch it up and go Southpaw in the last round but the Brit’s timing was outstanding and he put together sharp combinations.

It’s England’s second gold of the day and they are the most successful nation in this sport at the Comm Games.

Tough

Jacob Cassar will need a knockout in the final round of his final against Russian-Born English fighter Patris Mughalzai.

He is down on the cards as the Mughalzai has been stunning.

Bleddyn marches on

Oliver Bleddyn finished fourth in the 10km heat, but with two dq’s he was already guarenteed a spot in the finals.

Five for Fife

Ellen Fife has picked up her fifth lawn bowl win on the greens, finishing her pool stage as the top competitor.

It went down to a tie break between her and Cook Island’s Emily Jim, but the Aussies class prevailed in the crucial moment.
