Rivalry renewed
Diamonds extend their lead
It’s a 47-10 bout in the Australia vs Ireland match at half time.
Diamonds just need to get through without any injuries.
It’s a bronze!
Wales’ James Ball gassed too early but still brings home siver, leaving Kane Perris with the bronze medal.
Podium for Perris
Perth’s para cyclist Kane Perris has guarenteed himself a spot of the podium, blazing home with 1.01.873.
He couldn’t quite catch the Scottish veteran Neil Fachie’s time of 1.00.162, but he and pilot Luke Zaccaria will still take home hardware.
The colour will be dictated by Wales.
Perris’ time to beat
Five time Commonwealth Games champion Neil Fachie has set the time to beat for Kane Perris, clocking 1.00.162.
Perris will need to break the one minute mark if he wants a chance at gold.
Another broken bike
Nigeria had only just left the starting line before their bike broke as well.
Kane Perris better make sure his bike is in order before they hit the track.
Big lead in the first
Blink and you’ll miss it, the Diamonds are up 27-6 in the first quarter against Ireland.
The two sides look worlds apart in skill, even with the Aussies sitting stars.
Broken chain for Kenya
Tragedy hit the Kenyan tandem team during the time trial with their chain snapping mid race.
It left the pair of Kennedy Ivuzu Ogada and Fabian Gathoni in a stick situation - the racing bikes have no brakes or gears.
The only way to decelerate is by peddling backwards, an impossible task once the chain snaps.
They were left slowly doing laps around the velodrome until the bike slowed down enough to where a staff member could catch them.
Time trials next
Next up is the men’s para tandem time trial final, West Aussie Kane Perris has four laps to clock a time good enough for a gold medal.
The Sandgroper will be piloted by Luke Zaccaria.
Gallagher draws first blood
It’s one hand on the gold for Jess Gallagher with the first win in the best of three battle.

WA guns benched
The Diamonds have opted to rest West Aussie starters Sophie Garbin and Courtney Bruce, who have both been in stellar form this Commonwealth Games.
