Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Live coverage of day one of Second Test between Australia and India in Adelaide
Can Australia produce a big turnaround to get the series back on an even keel in the Second Test?
Pat Cummins’ side will be desperate for a response following their rout in Perth, but it won’t be easy without Josh Hazlewood and against an Indian side bolstered by the return of skipper Rohit Sharma.
Stay across all the latest action below, with play due to start at midday WA time.
DANGER AT DUSK?
The next half-hour is critical for the young Test career of Nathan McSweeney.
The makeshift opener is heading in to bat at dusk, with a brand new pink rocket and a flying Jasprit Bumrah.
McSweeney troubled when he was thrown to the wolves at the end of day one in Perth, and again at the end of day three.
Australia would like to give the 25-year-old some time to prove himself in the position, but if the series is slipping away and he is one of a number of issues in the batting unit, they could be forced to rethink.
And then there is Marnus Labuschagne, who was tripping over his own feet to get out of the way of Bumrah’s thunderbolts in Perth and is genuinely batting for his career when he comes in at No.3.
Bumrah’s stunning opening spells in Perth put the series on notice. This will be a massive test for Australian openers at either end of their career and the struggling Labuschagne.
ALL OUT!
India are all out for 180 at the Adelaide Oval.
After getting a wicket with the first ball of the day, Mitchell Starc gets his sixth with the final of the innings - holding the pink ball aloft after claiming 6-48.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was the final wicket to fall, departing for a team-high 42 runs.
There were three ducks in the India innings, including Jaiswal’s golden duck to open proceedings in the second Test.
CUMMINS STRIKES AGAIN
Jasprit Bumrah has been removed without scoring by Cummins, who has his second.
Bumrah was caught by Usman Khawaja at first slip after the ball clipped the outside edge.
India are 9-176 at Adelaide Oval, just 20 minutes before tea.
AND THERE IT IS!
Mitchell Starc has FIVE wickets at Adelaide Oval - including TWO in the over.
Three balls after dismissing Ravi Ashwin LBW with an in-swinger, Harshit Rana was sent back to the sheds after Starc knocked over his stumps with another peach.
It’s the first time Starc has claimed a five-wicket haul against India.
OUT!
Ashwin is gone LBW and Mitchell Starc has FOUR wickets.
The tail-ender remarkably reviewed the decision but the in-swinger was shown to be cannoning into middle stump after hitting the pad.
Starc is looking dangerous with pink ball in hand.... could he get a five-fa?
DRINKS BREAK
India are 6/118 as we pause for a drinks break at the Adelaide Oval.
Meanwhile, a teenage Test hopeful has put Western Australia to the sword at the Sydney Cricket Ground today.

PAT GETS PANT
A huge wicket for Australia!
Pat Cummins has got the danger man for India with a ripping short delivery. Rashabh Pant dismissed for 21.
Marnus Labuschagne takes a simple catch and India are in deep trouble at 6/109.
MARSH BOWLS
Mitch Marsh has been thrown the pink ball for the first time in this Test.
The WA all-rounder has been struggling with ankle soreness since the first Test in Perth, having taken on extra overs in the absence of Cam Green.
The Aussies brought Beau Webster into the squad as cover but Marsh was declared fit and retained his spot.
He didn’t appear too sore in his first over, which went for seven runs.
BOLAND STRIKES
The dropped catch is quickly forgotten as Boland gets the other batter! The Indian skipper’s got to go!
Boland delivers a beauty that pitches outside off and jags back significantly, with Sharma pinned and struck in front. Given, and not contested by the veteran.
That’s a big one that now opens the door to the lower order. Sharma’s poor trot continues, Boland now has 2-26, and it’s 5-87!
Dropped!
Nathan McSweeney held onto a beauty in the first session, but he’s missed an opportunity here.
The opener puts down a chance at gully, with a Pant edge flying low to his right. McSweeney can only get one hand to it and it doesn’t stick.
With Pant one of the shining lights in the Indian line-up, how costly might that be?
