SCG Test Day one: Australia on top but Jasprit Bumrah strikes late to fire up India
After a dramatic Boxing Day Test Australia are in the box seat to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but India have made a huge call as they look to flip the script in Sydney.

Terrible shot just before lunch.
Gill advances down the wicket and a bit of extra bounce surprises him as the ball slides on to take the shoulder of the bat with Smith completing an easy catch and that’s lunch.
Crazy stuff from Gill he couldn’t get to the pitch of the ball and he’s given it away on the stroke of lunch.

EDGED over the slips for four. A tentative cut but it flies over the slips to vacant third man for four.
Webster beats Gill’s bat a couple of times with Cummins turning to Nathan Lyon for a burst before lunch.
He bowls a tidy maiden though there’s not much turn yet.
50 up for India
Things have settled down since the Kolhi decision with both batsmen working the ball nicely.
The 50 comes up off a Starc no-ball but there haven’t been any real chances though Australia has kept it mostly tight.
Webster is on
The debutant gets a chance to impress replacing Scott Boland.
First ball gets an inside edge but it’s a no-ball a touch over eager from Webster.
There’s an LBW shout but it’s going down leg.

Shubman Gill goes for a big drive and the inside edge just misses the stumps as it whizzes for four.
Since Kohli got his life he’s looking good confidently driving down the ground.
Boland beats Gill with a jaffa with one that nips past the outside edge this pair having put on 25 runs.
Drinks
An enthralling first hour.
The more I look at it the more I think Kohli should have been gone but alas it’s not to be.
Expect it to be a massive talking point form day one.
There was also a review for a catch off Gill but he was nowhere near it.
Plenty of debate over that catch
Justin Langer and Simon Katich both believe it should have been given and of course, It had to be Joel Wilson again.
Smith had no doubt and it’s such a marginal call.

It would be an incredible catch but the third umpire is checking if the ball hit the ground.

It’s probably a fair enough call but wow that was extraordinary.
