After a dramatic Boxing Day Test Australia are in the box seat to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but India have made a huge call as they look to flip the script in Sydney.

Follow all the action live.

ANOTHER ONE

BOLAND IS ONE FIRE AT THE SCG.

Nitish Reddy off a century in Melbourne wafts at a wide one outside off and Smith makes no mistake at second slip.

He’s on a hat-trick.

BOLAND GETS THE BREAKTHROUGH

PANT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.

He’s been so watchful so circumspect and then as he does gets bored and launches into an attacking pull which he gets off the toe of the bat to Cummins at mid-on.

A needless shot and hall the hard work undone.

More struggles in the field

Pant pushes a sharp single and Webster’s throw is off by miles and there’s no backing up that as Pant gets 5!

There has been some good catches today but the fielding overall has been poor and it’s already hurting them.

And we’re back

Scott Boland kicks us off after tea hanging one outside off that moves away.

CLOSE. He rips another one past the outside edge of Jadeja as it moves appreciably after pitching.

The last one strays on the pads allowing Jadeja to whip a single.

TEA IND 4/107

Lyon bowls the final over but Pant goes after him crashing four through backward point and then swatting two to mid-wicket and that’s tea.

A grinding session with just 50 runs coming from it for the wicket of Kohli.

It could have been so much better if Smith hand’t spilled an easy chance off Boland to give Jadeja a life before Lyon dropped him with a thought chance at gully.

Pant has worn plenty of blows but has survived and started to unfurl some more of his aggressive strokes.

A shared session with Australia still ahead but they need to be better in the field.

More pain for Pant

He ducks under a bouncer but it doesn’t get up and strikes him on the back.

OUCH. Beaten on the inside edge and hits him right where you don’t want it and he’s down wincing in pain again.

Tough stuff from the keeper.

100 up for India

Lyon returns will Pant go after the spinner?

Not yet as he defends then pushes a single.

Lyon tosses one up and Jadeja accepts the offering smashing four down the ground.

Dropped and six

Jadeja pushes at one outside off and Lyon dives to his left but it doesn’t stick and goes down. Another life for Jadeja.

SIX! Pant steps down and makes room and launches Webster down the ground for six to bring the crowd to life.

Grinding away

FOUR. This partnership was 10 runs from 11 overs but Pant finally breaks the shackles as he gets some width and crashes it through point for four.

There’s half an appeal as he chases one down the leg side but it’s come off the hip and Cummins does well not to review.

A wild short ball flies high as Carey does well to get glove on it and keep it to one bye.

India 4/87

IND 4/81

Boland has beaten the edge at least half a dozen times while Pant continues to collect more marks on his body from in-swingers.

Starc is finding plenty of movement at pace from the other end but this pair are staying patient with just 17 runs coming off the last 10 overs.

It’s been a testing period after lunch and you feel something has to give soon.
