Paris 2024 Olympics RECAP: Matt Wearn, Nina Kennedy and Peter Bol highlight day 12
Australia is on course for its best-ever Olympics, can they keep up their golden run on day 12 while the Opals and Sharks face knock-out quarter-finals?

Kurtis Matthews sneaks into men’s 3m final
He had been living on the edge throughout the semifinal hovering between 11th and 13th with only the top 12 going through.
But on his final dive he pulls out a 79.80. His best dive from the meat to sneak through in 11th.
Opals lead at the half
They maintained the strong form from the first quarter to take a 16-point lead into halftime.
Australia still comfortably outshooting their opponents.
While it was the Serbia who began to crack under the pressure committing seven turnovers that quarter.
Jade Melbourne leads all scorers with 14 points thanks to six points from the free-throw line.
Reath and Starc clear 2.20
Joel Baden fails to clear the bar and his tournament is done.

Australia up 26-19 thanks to 3 from 5 shooting beyond the arc.
Cayla George and Alanna Smith have seven points each. Australia will want to clean up their ball use leading turnovers once again 4-1 but for now their shooting is keeping them out in front.
Opals breakaway
Serbia misses another field goal and Kayla George makes them pay with a huge dime to push the gap out to 21-13.
The men also made a terrific start last night before collapsing so there’s a long way to go yet.
Opals underway
Australia take on Serbia in the quarter-final. Can they got better than the men to down the Serbs.
They are up 10-6 early in the first quarter thanks to some superior shooting.

She’s off to a shaky start sitting at one over after four to be tied for 11th.
It’s been a tough day with 15 of the 27 starters so far currently over par.
Mackenzie Little through to the javelin final
Her second throw easily clears the automatic qualifying distance with a 62.82m.
She can now rest up ahead of Sunday morning’s 1:30am final.
Kathryn Mitchell at 42 years old throws 62.4 so she’s through as well.
