Mollie O’Callaghan powered away on the opening leg and Ariarne Titmus sealed gold.
But Brianna Throssell brushed aside a swimming legend in Australia’s 4x200m freestyle relay win.
Throssell became the first West Australian medallist at the Paris Olympics when she watched Titmus touch the wall first in an epic relay triumph on Friday morning (AWST).
And her third leg was the defining one in Australia’s victory.

Queen Mary of Denmark was poolside in Paris as fellow Tasmanian Ariarne Titmus anchored Australia to a gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay.
