Paris Olympics 2024: Mackenzie Little, Jessica Hull among Aussies in medal hunt for track and field events

Jessica Hull lived up to the hype as she produced a rare Aussie track medal on the penultimate day of the Paris Olympics.
Recap all the action from the penultimate day in Paris in our live blog.
Tense times in the pool
Bea Ortiz has been monumental in this match.
She has FOUR of Spain’s eight goals and the Spainards are back out to a two-goal lead.
Back within one!
Sienna Hurn gets one back for Australia and here come the Stingers!
There’s just one point in this game.
One quarter to go
Spain lead 5-7 heading into the last quarter, after both teams scored late in the third.
We’ve got eight minutes to play in the gold medal match.
Can Australia pull off a famous victory or will Spain prevail?
Unbelievable from Cass!
Cassiel Rousseau has saved his best for last, an amazing forward-facing four-and-a-half somersault dive from a running start scored at a 92.5.
He is up into the silver medal spot with two divers who can challenge him to come.
Who else?
Alice Williams has trimmed the deficit again with an important goal in the third term.
Australia still trail by two goals but there is plenty of time left in this match.

Green stays in the mix
Hannah Green has made par on hole 15.
With three holes to go, she is still in a tie for second with Germany’s Henseleit, who has had some slight wobbles after a strong start.
A medal is far from guaranteed with six golfers currently in a tie for fourth.
Tough going for Cass
Cassiel Rousseau will need some other divers to make some huge errors with their final dive to get back in the mix for a medal.
An 82.8 with his fifth dive was the fourth-best score of the round but he currently sits fifth, 20 points adrift of the bronze medal spot.
China’s Yuan Cao is the current leader from Rikuto Tamai of Japan and Randal Valdez of Mexico.
Spain respond
Bea Ortiz strikes AGAIN, her third goal of the match - and this quarter.
It’s now 6-3 in the gold medal match with five minutes to go in the third.

And they get it!
Abby Andrews gets a much-needed goal for Australia in the gold-medal match.
It’s 5-3 in the gold medal match and the goals are flowing now!
Two for Bea
The Spainard strikes again, this time from a penalty.
Australia now trail 5-2 after three unanswered goals. They need the next one.
