Bike rider fighting for life after being hit by car on roundabout in Auburn, Sydney

A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car while riding his bike in western Sydney.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash in Sydney’s west.

At about 5pm on Tuesday, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were called to Chiswick Road, Auburn following reports of a crash between a bicycle and a car.

Police were told a black Honda Civic collided with a man riding a pushbike, causing the rider to impact heavily with the vehicle and then the ground.

The driver of the Civic, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.

The rider of the bike, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are also seeking any witnesses who were in or near the roundabout at Chiswick Rod and Chisholm Rd, Auburn between 5pm-5:30pm to come forward or call Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
