Man fatally struck by station wagon in Southern Highlands, NSW

A man has died after he was struck by a car in the Southern Highlands in NSW.

He was walking along Colo Rd at Colo Vale near Bowral when he was allegedly hit by a white Volkswagen station wagon just before 6pm on Tuesday.

The pedestrian, believed to be in his 80s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the station wagon, a 46-year-old man, stopped after the crash and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He was then arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.

His licence was suspended, and he was refused bail ahead of his court hearing at the Picton Local Court on Wednesday.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
