Ascot: Brisbane police hunt gang after violent Hopetoun Street BMW carjacking leaves woman in hospital

Police are currently on the hunt for a group of offenders after a woman was injured in a violent carjacking in one of Brisbane’s most upmarket suburbs.
At approximately 4.30am on Wednesday, the group allegedly forced their way into a home on Hopetoun Street in Ascot and targeted a black BMW X3 parked at the property.
When occupants tried to intervene, the offenders accelerated away in the vehicle, striking a 34-year-old woman and knocking her to the ground.

The stolen BMW was later found abandoned on Borrows Street in Virginia, but the group responsible is still on the run.
Police are appealing for dashcam or CCTV footage of the BMW between 4.30am and 5.30am, urging anyone with information to come forward. Investigations are continuing.
