Police believe a German backpacker who vanished in the Wheatbelt is likely to have wandered from her bogged van, which was found 35km away from any dirt tracks in the harsh outback. Carolina Wilga, 26, has been missing for almost two weeks after she last contacted friends on Sunday June 29 — the same day she was driving through the townsite of Beacon. A photograph of her van, found by police on Thursday, shows recovery tracks placed underneath the rear tyres of the van, which appears to have become stuck or bogged around Karroun Hill.
