Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen’s $250 million dollar divorce turns bitter amid Rebel Wilson allegations

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher announced their supposedly harmonious divorce with a carefully staged photo of themselves posing in tennis whites in April 2024, cheekily captioning it “After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down.”
The message insisted there was “complete lack of animosity” between Isla Fisher, 49, and Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, as they began dividing their £120 million ($AU250m) fortune.
Twelve months later, the match has turned decidedly less friendly.

The couple, who share three children aged 17, 14 and 10, reportedly planned initially to buy neighbouring homes in North London to co-parent seamlessly. Instead, Fisher has been spending months in Australia filming her new movie while Baron Cohen remains in Los Angeles with his celebrity friends, leaving their children primarily in the care of nannies.
The cracks began showing publicly when Fisher gave a revealing interview to The Sunday Times in February 2025, breaking what sources say was an informal agreement to keep their private lives out of the press.
“It’s the most difficult thing I’ve been through,” Fisher said of the divorce, while praising the support of female friends.
“The women in my life have held me... I’m sitting here today because of them.”
The comments reportedly infuriated Baron Cohen, who viewed them as a breach of their privacy pact and perhaps even subtle alignment with actress Rebel Wilson, whose 2024 memoir made damaging claims about Baron Cohen’s behaviour. They are allegations he has vehemently denied.
The timing of their divorce announcement, coming just days after Wilson’s accusations went public, fuelled speculation about the real reasons behind their split.
While one source claimed the controversy was the “catalyst” for making their separation official, another insisted they had already filed for divorce in 2023 and simply wanted to give their children time to adjust before going public.
Now, as the once golden Hollywood couple battles over finances and parenting arrangements, Fisher is said to be focusing on revitalising her career after years of prioritising family.
She recently appeared in the new Bridget Jones film and is reportedly seeking more substantial roles.
“She loved being back in the thick of things,” said an insider to The Sun.
“But Sacha is not happy about it at all - she’s come out fighting and it’s come as a bit of a shock.”
The divorce proceedings, now stretching into their second year, show no signs of reaching a peaceful resolution anytime soon.
As one source bluntly put it: “Nobody is pretending anymore. It’s war.”
The carefully constructed image of their “harmonious” split has been replaced by a far messier reality, with millions at stake and two Hollywood heavyweights preparing for a prolonged legal battle that shows every sign of getting uglier before it’s over.
