Passenger brought to tears by kind act of new mother on a flight
Every parent knows flying with a newborn baby can be difficult, but one airline passenger has praised a new mother for her kind act to fellow passengers before the plane even took off.
TikTok user Elliott posted that a mother of a newborn had given him some mixed lollies, leaving him overwhelmed with gratitude during his Delta flight.
“A mum with her newborn in front of me on the plane gave me this,” Elliott, who uses the TikTok name @callmebelly, captioned the 20-second video.

He then shared a photo of the mixed lollies which included a mix of fun-size Starburst lollies and Twix. Attached to the bag of lollies was a note from the new mother.

“It’s my first flight,” the note began.
“I made a deal to be on my best behaviour — but I can’t make any guarantees. I might cry if I get scared or if my ears start to hurt.
“Here are some treats to make your flight enjoyable. Thank you for being patient with us. Have a great flight.”
The sweet gift was well-received but a number of people said the new mother should not have to hand out gifts just to take her newborn on the flight.
On Tuesday, Western Sydney woman Amanda Rose and The Daily Telegraph’s James Willis joined Nat Barr on Sunrise, speaking about the kind gesture.
“I think it’s absolutely such a sweetheart move to do this,” Rose said.

“My question to those who received that little gift bag, the lollies, is did they go up and say, ‘Can I help you and if there is anything you need during the flight let me know?’
“Just taking that and eating and saying that’s nice is one thing. I see other mothers freaking out saying ‘Do I have to do that? I’m not doing that, I’m just surviving’.”
Willis said it showed “great organisational skills” and a “cute gesture” by the mother.
“I would happily accept the lolly bag for the crying baby on the flight,” Willis said.
“I think it’s great organisational skills and good on them for doing that ... it’s a cute gesture.
“Look, crying babies are not the funnest experiences on a flight for a bag of Skittles.”
