Fremantle has now won 13 games in a row to claim another record with a tight victory over Geelong.

The Cats, who are the only team to beat Fremantle, were without Bailey Smith and Tom Stewart while the Dockers regained Caleb Serong, Brennan Cox and Matthew Johnson.

Recap all the action from our blog below.

Spraying it

Fremantle have started the term like a house on fire with a look-away tap from Dudley, a steal from Reid and a huge wrap-up tackle from Voss.

But they all ended in missed touches.

And Cameron makes them pay at the other end sinking a 45-metre set shot.

Buckle up everyone, this is going to be a shootout.

Unless Chris Scott has anything to say about it at the break.

The goals were coming thick and fast but both teams could have had plenty more if they had converted their set shots.

The ball is flying from end to end with both midfields feasting on loose ball.

Jackson has 10 touches and equals Geelong’s Tanner Bruhn.

Magical Martin

Jack Martin has given the Cats a 10-point lead with his third goal of the term.

We have had eight goals in just over half a quarter.

The pace is frantic.

The difference

The Dockers are only up by three in the clearances but theirs are incredibly dangerous because they are escaping out the front of the contest.

Bolton and Brayshaw have already given the Dockers two looks at goal from that source running through untouched.

But the Cats are starting to fight back and stop looking sideways.

A Pearce fumble in defence has given them the lead.

Jackson in the action

The Dockers have responded in quick time.

Jackson has been paying attention at the world cup and as the ball pitches on the goal line and bounces back into play he taps it into the back of the net.

Exciting start to this one with Bolton having already shown his blistering speed around the contest as well.

First blood

The Cats are on the board with the first major.

Treacy missed his set shot after a strong mark but after basically having the ball fall in his lap, Jack Martin makes his count at the other end.

Underway!

The first contest looked to be at a standstill before the Dockers escaped and went forward.

Geelong repell but Pearce gets the intercept.

Reid-y or not

Murphy Reid has a strong history against Geelong in his first couple of games against the Cats.

He kicked four goals in a matter of minutes on debut.

Can he get a hold of them again tonight?

No changes

Just to confirm, both teams will head into the match as named.

The Cats are likely to welcome Serong back with a tag but the Dockers have so many weapons now even if they stop him it might not make much difference.
