Footy’s back with a blast from the past as the Indigenous All Stars return for the first time in 10 years to take on Fremantle in what is set to be an electric curtain raiser for the AFL season.

Follow all the action live below, with bouncedown set for 4.30pm.

Bizarre 50 gives Bobby Hill is second

Horne-Francis kicks to Hill in the pocket.

Brandon Walker attempts to spoil way too late and ends up on Hill’s head who ducks as the pair come crashing down.

Walters hits back

The All Stars captain shows no leeway to his usual teammate Andrew Brayshaw nailing him in a strong tackle and then drawing the 50m with Brayshaw creeping over the mark. He nails the shot from 40m and he is pumped.

Action Jackson!

Cooper Simpon’s set shot from 50 falls short but Jackson outmuscles the All Stars defenders to pick up the crumb and snap his first goal while in traffic.

Dockers on the board

Frederick gets himself into trouble as he swarmed by the All Stars defenders but the ball spills out to the pocket where Jeremy Sharpe is free to snap Fremantle’s first goal.

Horne-Francis on the board

Out of defence the All Stars go long up the middle were Shai Bolton takes a great contested mark.

Quick hands work the ball to Jason Horne-Fancis who runs to 50 and nails the goal on the run.

High energy

The Dockers defence looks jittery which is fair enough considering the calibre of small forwards lying at their feet.

It may be an exhibition but it’s a hot footy with the tackles coming in thick and fast.

Bobby Hill with the first goal!

Michael Walters and Kozzie Pickett start on the ball. The All Stars force a turnover on the wings and they just pressure in waves.

The balls loose inside 50 but it falls to Bobby Hill who snaps the first goal of the game and brings out a celebration to boot.

Here we go

The All Stars perform a war cry before players head to their positions. Coen Livingstone heads to ruck having never played an AFL level game before.

He’ll go against Liam Reidy with Luke Jackson up forward.

It’s hot

It’s 33 degrees at the moment and the quarters have been reduced from 23 to 21 minutes to allow both sides to manage the heat.

Michael Walters and Andrew Brayshaw speak

“Unless I kick six or seven in a half I don’t think it’s mine to win,” he says when asked about the Polly Farmer medal.

“There’s so much talent out there so it’s anyone’s guess.”

“It’s an awesome occasion,” Andrew Brayshaw says.

Brayshaw also speaks on their signing of Isaiah Dudley, who is Kysaiah Pickett’s cousin.

“Dud’s has been training the last couple months and it was a real special day to have his family there yesterday to announce it.”
