Cricket: Day 1 in Adelaide had no shortage of talking points - so what will Day 2 bring?

Australia resume at 8-326, but it could have been a better position for England had a DRS error not gone against them to help Alex Carey notch a ton.

The tourists will be looking to wrap up two quick wickets and then bat for a long chunk of time - in forecast 37C heat - to put the pressure back on the home side.

Relive the day in our blog below!

WICKET Brook c Carey b Green 45

Cam Green time could do with a wicket just give him something in a tough Test match so far.

10 minutes until tea.

He’s on a nice line outside off but oversteps on his second ball.

HE DOES IT! Right after the no-ball he gets in the perfect spot as it nibbles away off the angle and Brook has to play and sends the edge through to Carey.

Massive moment for Green and for this Test match as he falls for 45.

Lovely delivery from the all-rounder.

36th Over - ENG 4-126

Brook flicks a single to midwicket after the early over drama with Lyon committing around the wicket.

Stokes sees off the rest.

Brook survives on review

He’s given caught down the legside off Lyon but reviews immediately.

Replays show he’s missed it comfortably coming off the pad and the vice captain survives.

35th Over - ENG 4-125

Time for the short stuff as Starc has three out on the legside.

Brook takes it on but keeps it down to get one.

More conventional field for Stokes, who’s leaving outside off.

One from it.

34th Over - ENG 4-124

Stokes is back and flicking two into the legside.

He defends the rest from Lyon.

33rd Over - ENG 4-122

Starc replaces Boland who also went off the field.

Brook his pushing a single into the off-side.

Quick single onto cover and Stokes has to put the dive in but it would have been safe.

Green stops a boundary with a dive at gully then immediately runs off the field maybe split webbing?

Close! Brook flashes at a cut and it beaten.

FOUR! Gets it out of the middle this time to bring up the 50 partnership.

32nd Over - ENG 4-116

Lyon is back on, replacing Cummins who has gone off the field.

Brook is back defending under his eyes.

He gets one past point.

Stokes gets a single and Brook gets one to finish.

31st Over - ENG 4-113

Boland strays down leg, but Carey does well to stop it.

He squares Brook up as he tries to play on legside as it striaghtens.

He gets a single to backward point to finish and that’s another drinks break.

30th Over - ENG 4-112

Brook punches one down the ground.

Cummins is throwing int he occassional bouncer, which they’re not taking on.

This pair looking largely untroubled at the moment.

29th Over - ENG 4-111

SIX! Brook’s had enough, he advances down and slaps Boland over point for six to bring up England’s 100.

He strays on the pads and he gets two to square leg.

There’s two more as he punches forward of point.

One more to point.

Stokes gets two this time as Boland strays on the pads

A productive over for the tourists.
