It’s day five of the Paris Olympic Games and athletes are braving the river Seine as the first triathlons get underway.

Djokovic in a tie-breaker
Novak Djokovic has held off a determined challenge from German opponent Dominik Koepfer to take the first set in a tie-breaker, 7-5.
Heroic Hauser overcomes crash in triathlon
Australian triathlon medal hope Matt Hauser remarkably overcame a heavy crash on the cycling leg of the triathlon to finish seventh.
Hauser said “I hope I did everyone back home proud,” and that he did.
After starting the running leg in 18th following the crash, Hauser devoured the field to finish seventh in a brilliant display of grit and determination.
Fellow Aussie Luke Willian finished 46th.
Parker packs a punch
WA’s Caitlin Parker is soon to step into the ring with Mexico’s Citlalli Vanessa Ortiz in the women’s 75kg round of 16.
Aussies in action before midnight
BMX stars Natalya Diehm and Logan Martin will vie for gold in their respective park finals.
Diehm gets underway at 7.10pm before Martin defends his Tokyo gold medal at 8.44pm.
The Hockeyroos take on USA at 7.15pm and Jess Fox chases C1 glory to go with her K1 gold at 11.25pm.
Yee-haw
Great Britain’s Alex Yee has produced one of the great Olympic triathlon comebacks, evaporating a 15-second gap to New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde in the final 300m to clinch the gold medal.
Australia’s Matt Hauser put forward a strong running leg, where he began the 10km stretch in 18th, to finish seventh overall.
Fellow Aussie Luke Willian came in 46th.
The Joker back on centre court
Former tennis world No.1 Novak Djokovic is back in action on day five and looking to claim his third scalp of the campaign.
Having eased past “The King of Clay” Rafael Nadal and Aussie Matt Ebden, Djokovic is taking on German Dominik Koepfer at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
He was 2-1 up on serve moments ago.
Dekkers and Connor qualify for butterfly semis
Australia’s Abbey Connor and Elizabeth Dekkers have qualified for the 200m butterfly semifinals after posting strong times in their respective heats.
Connor finished second in heat two, stopping the clock at 2min07:13sec, while Dekkers was also the second quickest in the first heat, touching the wall after 2:08.97.
Djoker back at Rolland-Garros
Novak Djokovic is set for action, taking on Germany’s Dominik Koepfer in the third round of the men’s singles.
Later tonight, Matt Ebden and John Peers will take to the court in the men’s doubles against China.
Hauser still in the mix for medal
The cycling leg has come to an end, and Aussie Matt Hauser is still with the lead pack.
Experts say his specialty is the running component.
