Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus have done it in 7:38.08 - just shy of the world record.

Australia in a relay landslide
Our Aussie girls’ dominance in the pool has showed no signs of slowing down with our 4x200m freestyle relay team qualifying for the final in stunning fashion.
Fastest across the pool and finishing their heat almost two lengths ahead of Hungary in second, Australia will chase more gold tonigt in the final at 4.03am.
Wearn must wait
One of Australia’s strongest medal chances and reigning world sailing champion Matt Wearn, hailing from WA, must wait to defend his 2020 Olympic gold medal in the men’s dinghy race with unfavourable conditions stopping the race from starting.
Race organisers postponed the event a short time ago and announce the race will not start until after 7pm.
Aussies fall short of fours medal
Australia fail to defend men’s four crown and fall short of a medal finishing last in the final.
The defending champions were fourth heading into the final 1000m and had more than a boat’s length to make up.
Unable to recover the deficit, the team slipped to last as they crossed the finish line, with USA clinching gold ahead of New Zealand and Great Britain rounding out the podium.
Rowers falling behind
Australia are sitting fifth and have a lot of ground to make up of they’re to win a medal in the rowing fours final.
Kookaburras bounce back in style
The Kookaburras have bounced back from their heavy defeat to the No.1 ranked Belgium with a dominant 5-0 victory over New Zealand.
Drag flick star Blake Govers was superb netting a hat-trick to keep the Aussies in the top three and povisionally qualified for the finals.

The Kookaburras are laughing in their “sibling rivalry”, winning 5-0 over New Zealand in their fourth match of the campaign.
McEvoy motors in 50m free heat
Aussie swim star Cam McEvoy posts the fastest 50m freesyle heat time to progress through to the semifinals.
He will be joined in the semifinals with Olympic debutant Ben Armbruster which start tonight at 2.46am.

Ben Armbruster finishes second in heat nine of the men’s 50m frestyle touching the wall at 21.86sec.
Kookaburras update
Into the third quarter against New Zealand, the Kookaburras are up 3-0.
WA’s Tom Wickham opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Blake Govers doubled the advantage two minutes later.
Another goal in the third term from Ky Willott has Australia cruising with a quarter to play.
Bronze!
She paced the women’s race walk to perfection with China’s Yang winning after blowing out to a big lead early.
Yang was reigned in, but she did enough to claim gold.
