AUSSIES WIN!!!
Australia has claimed GOLD in the 4x200m freestyle final.
Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus have done it in 7:38.08 - just shy of the world record.
CONGRATS GIRLS!!!!
Min Woo
The Perth boy Min Woo Lee has made a tough start in the Golf.
He is +2 very early on while Jason Day is -1.
Straight sets
The Aussies produced some brilliance in the second set, but it was not enough to avoid a third-straight defeat.
It means the team from Qatar remain undefeated in their Beach Volleyball group.
Up and about
Izac Carracher and Mark Nicolaidis lost the first set but have fired up to start the second.
They lead 8-6 after a huge block!
Tough ask
The Aussies made a bright start, but the longer the set goes, the better the Qatary pairing is getting.
Australia are also copping it from the referees for getting carried away in their arguments.
Qatar up 17-11.
More Volleyball
Izac Carracher and Mark Nicolaidis are now up after their compatriots went down.
They have a tough task with the 13th seeds from Qatar.
These two have lost their first two clashes but will be hoping to grab victory.
German steal
Thomas Hodges and Zachery Schubert had six match points but couldn’t convert as the German’s took their one chance and won the match.
The Aussies were gutsy and had their blocking on point; they just needed better composure.
A tough loss to swallow but a much better outing for the relatively new pair.
Germany answer
The Aussies did an incredible job of pushing Germany, but ultimately, they took the second set 21-18.
The third set will be first to 15 and Australia will receive first.
Beach Volleyball
Australian Beach Volleyball duo Thomas Hodges and Zachery Schubert are coming back strong after a disappointing straight-sets defeat to Polan in their first game.
They took the first set against Germany with strong serving, and despite taking an early lead in the second, they are trying to hold on.
Germany have the momentum and lead the second set 14-12.
Race walk results
The Aussies couldn’t crack the top 10 in the end.
Tingay finished 11th, with Cowley 12th.
Swan finished in 35th place.
Ecuador’s Brian Daniel Pintado won gold with Brazil’s Caio Bonfim in silver and Spain’s Alvaro Martin in bronze.
Game Australia! 3x3 Basketball
Maley gets a big rebound and sends the ball out to Wilson on the perimeter, who nails a two-pointer, as she did to beat Germany yesterday, to win the game.
China used their size inside to challenge but Wilson’s 11 points, with plenty from outside, kept the Aussies ahead of the game.
They win 21-15 and are looking good for the Play-in.
