Australia’s hopes of rugby 7s gold have been squashed, with Fiji progressing through to the final.
Fiji, who have won the previous two gold medals, dominated in the second half, scoring three tries to zero to take a 31-7 win.
Australia can still take home a medal, and will take on South Africa in the bronze medal match.
Meanwhile, Fiji is eyeing off a third gold in a row, when they take on host nation France in the final.

Fiji breaks away in rugby 7s clash with Australia
Fiji has broken the deadlock early in the second half, leaving Australia seven points down with five minutes to go.
Australia is eyeing off its first medal in the sport.
Dowling scores for Australia, but Fiji level the scores
Fiji has levelled the scores against Australia in the rugby 7s semi final, setting up an exciting second half.
A handy bit of footwork from Australia’s Ben Dowling had his side up, where he was able to kick it off the ground before scoring a try.
However, Fiji’s Joji Nasova burst through the Aussie’s defence, levelling the scores just before half time.
Australia set for action in rugby 7s semi final
Australia is up against Fiji for a spot in the gold medal match in the rugby 7s.
In the previous match, the host nation made it through to the final of the men’s rugby 7s final, defeating South Africa 19-5.
Australia has never won a medal in the event before, and will be eyeing gold if they can knock off Fiji.
Brown hunting Australia’s first medal
Grace Brown is hunting Australia’s first medal, after a strong start in the road cycling time trial.
The 32-year-old was 51 seconds better than the leader at the 22km mark of the race.
Aussies fall in men’s beach volleyball
Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher battled hard, but ultimately couldn’t overcome their Swedish opponents.
Australia survived three match points, but missed the serve on the fourth to give Sweden the win in straight sets.
The duo will be back in action on Monday, July 29, when they take on Italy.

Rugby 7s: South Africa and France go head to head for a spot in the final
As Australia prepares to take on Fiji, South Africa and France have taken the field in the rugby 7s semi final.
The winner will go through to the gold medal match, while the loser will be competing for bronze.
The match has been physical, with neither team able to score after the first half.
Aussies fighting back in beach volleyball
After losing the first set 21-14, Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher are fighting to stay alive against Sweden.
Sweden is up 11-10 in the second set.

The cyclists start in intervals and ride 32.4km through the streets of Paris, trying to record the fastest time.
