Plenty of big deals to unfold before tonight's 7:30pm AEDT deadline.

It’s D-Day for AFL trades, with clubs racing the clock to complete deals and a swathe of big names still left on the table. Follow all the action in our live trade blog!

Charlie Curnow is the name being discussed the most as a potential shift from Carlton to Sydney looms, while we wait to see what will take place with the likes of Christian Petracca, Zach Merrett, Clayton Oliver, Rowan Marshall, Callum Ah Chee and more.

Stay across the day’s developments as they happen here!

Zach Merrett ‘all in’ on becoming a Hawk

“Negotiations are going,” his mangaer Tom Petroro says on Trade Radio

“Zach really wants to be a Hawthorn footballer; he’s all in on this.

“It’s been a difficult time for him, he’s at home, he’s in a position where he feels like he’s given he’s all to Essendon and he’s ready for a fresh start and chase success at Hawthorn.

“Hawthorn is having a look at different alternates. I’ve never seen a deal like this for a 30-year-old, it’s massive collateral.”

Hawks and Carlton in a pick swap talks

Hawthorn are launching a bid for Carlton’s pick No.22 with the looks of adding that to the Merrett deal.

Don’t know if that will move the needle enough for the Blues but it shows the Hawks are still actively trying to get the trade done.

Ollie Florent set to be a blue

The Swans have agreed to trade Florent for the future third-round pick.

Who knows how this will affect the Charlie Curnow deal?

It’s 11am

The trade freeze is lifted

Jiath could be the first deal done today

Seven’s Mitch Cleary is reporting Melbourne have agreed to a deal to secure the Hawthorn defender in exchange for pick 42, the same pick they recieved for losing Charlie Spargo in free agency.

There are also reports that Ollie Florent will end up at the Blues regardless of the Curnow deal with a future third round pick being sent the Swans way.

We’ve got 18 minutes until the trade freeze is lifted.

Blues legend slams Curnow as ‘woke’

Carlton champion Brendan Fevola has taken aim at Charlie Curnow just hours before the star forward learns whether he will be traded to Sydney.

7NEWS AFL reporter Xander McGuire also reported that agreeing on Curnow’s salary and contract length — he is contracted at Carlton until 2030 — also needs ironing out.

Ah Chee deal still stuck

There is a chance Callum Ah Chee could be forced to go through the pre-season draft with Brisbane and Adelaide still at loggerheads over the deal for the premiership forward.

The Lions want a first-round pick, which the Crows have not budged on.

Ah Chee is out of contract and could walk through the pre-season draft which runs the risk of other clubs swooping on him.

But don’t get too excited Eagles fans with players allowed to put a minimum salary on their head, making it harder for clubs to steal him.

Of course, no one wants to run that risk but someone’s going to have to break the deadlock.

Melbourne in the Steele market

Jack Steele was told he was welcome to explore his options but was reportedly happy to stay at the Saints even if it meant less midfield time

However, reports have emerged the Demons are looking to make a late play for the midfielder.

Worth noting some have suggested Steele’s decision to stay at the Saints was a contributing factor to them withdrawing their interst in Leek Aleer.

Blues reject Swans Curnow offer

While deals can’t be made until 11am offers can be rejected with the Blues turning down Sydney’s offer for their star forward.

The Swans proposed sending draft pick No.11, a first-round selection next year and players Ollie Florent and Will Hayward to Carlton for Curnow and pick No.22.
