Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus have done it in 7:38.08 - just shy of the world record.

Jason Day keeps pressing
Aussie golf star Jason Day is just four shots of the pace and equal seventh with two holes remaining in round one.
Fellow countryman Min Woo Lee is having a day to forget and will not make the day one cut sitting last six over.

Cayla George goes BANG! from long range on the buzzer to give the Opals a handy six point lead at the main break.
West Aussie Sami Whitcomb has been instrumental on the offensive end with a floor-high 10 points while Steph Talbot has crashed the glass at both ends of the court for five rebounds.

Min Woo’s horrors continue
He’s at 6 over with one hole to play and is dead last after a horror opening round at Le Golf National and will be in no danger of medaling.
Jason Day is holding steady a three under two shots out of bronze and five behind early leader Hideki Matsuyama.
Running hot
The Opals are cooking with a 9-0 run to take back a six-point lead mid-way through the second term.
Canada on a run
The Canadians have emerged after the first break with a point to prove with an 8-2 run to grapple back the lead.
They lead the Aussies by four points early in the second.
Controversial boxer wins in walkover
Khelif was disqualified from the 2023 world championships after failing an unspecified gender eligibility test. Her presence at the Paris Olympics has become a divisive issue.
WA’s Wearn starts slow in race one
Matt Wearn started slowly in race one, but stormed home on the final leg to finish 12th.
Passing the first of four marks in 14th and then slipping to 21st at the second, th defending Oympic champion found his groove to skip through the field and move up into 12th on the last leg.
QUARTER TIME
After conceding the first five points of the game, the Opals kicked into gear and lead Canada in their must-win clash by two points.
Ezi Magbegor and Sami Whitcomb have each been enormous in the early parts with eight points to spearhead the Aussies.
Jackson activated
The Opals greatest ever basketballer Lauren Jackson has been subbed on early in the first quarter as Sami Whitcomb drains a long-range bomb to take the lead for the Aussies.

Ezi Magbegor does it at both ends off the floor, converting a fast break from her own block at the other end to register the Opals’ first points of the match.
